Explore the incredible outdoors

We welcome all Camping & Caravanning Club members to our meets where you will be free to join organised walks and rides, explore on your own, or just relax in the company of likeminded people.

The Walking and Cycling Section (WACs) is a special interest section of the Caravan and Camping Club. At most of our meets, you will be able to enjoy walks and cycling. Walks are often 4- 10 miles. With a short and long walk each day. This depends on the walk organisers available. Cycling trips are often around 15 - 25 miles. Both walking and cycling usually depart from site around 10.00 am and back for afternoon tea and cake around 16.00. Anyone can organise a trip out.

We are split into two areas:

Wessex. Meets from the North Cotswolds down to the South Coast of England.

Peakland. Based around the Derbyshire area.

We hold an annual Festival of Walking & Cycling Festival each May where members from across the country meet to enjoy a week of activities.

Our camping sites are OFF GRID. You will need you own sanitation and washing facilities. There is NO FREE WiFi and NO Electric Hook Up. Most sites have good mobile signal. (But not always)

The Peakland Walking and Cycling Area formed a new Committee at its meeting on 4th April 2026 at the Cromford camping meet. The committee holds only four meetings per year, two face to face and two virtually via Zoom (50% attendance requirement).

We are always looking for new committee members as well as stewards and assistant stewards for are meets. To join the committee you must have been a member of the Walking and Cycling Section for at least one year.
There are interesting and varied roles available, which you would be supported to fulfil, taking up only a small amount of your free time but helping our area to continue to grow and prosper.

If you would like help us, please contact any member of the committee.
